Jip - Korean-French cooking, Paris 11e

Jip is a micro-restaurant on rue de la Roquette, in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Sixteen seats in all: a few tables, and a counter that seats six. Chef Esu Lee serves a single set menu at 35 €, the same for the whole room.

The menu runs to three courses: two starters, then a noodle dish. Each course also comes in a vegetarian version. What is on it changes with the seasons and with what the chef feels like cooking.

Esu Lee is Korean and trained in French kitchens. That double belonging is where the cooking of the house comes from: Korean seasonings and Korean ways set on French technique. He also runs Orson, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

The wine list leans heavily on natural wines. The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday, dinner only, with three seatings: 6.30pm, 8pm and 9.30pm. The room does not take tables of more than four people; beyond that, the restaurant can be hired in full. Jip holds a Bib Gourmand in the MICHELIN Guide 2026.
